SALE!!!SALE!!!SALE!!! yEaH!!!

I made a sale today. I haven't had one in a while, I am so excited.

I renewed a listing this morning for these mini hearts that had expired a while back and they
sold the same day. I don't think I have ever had anything sell the same day it was listed. If I have it was so long ago I don't remember it.

I also sold these fun heart book marks.

Just in time for Valentine's Day.

I have relisted these items in my etsy store. They are available for purchase again you can check them out here: Country Cottage Crafts Shop

YEAH!!! Got a Job Finally And More!!!

Hey everybody so I found a job, yeah!

I am working as a product demonstrator for a small company here in San Jose. The woman that owns and runs it is very nice and easy to get a long with, a plus. The demonstrations are mostly of food (food tasting yummy) and some nutritional supplements from time to time. So far only food, good thing I can cook.

I will be doing the demos mostly in Whole Foods Stores in and around the San Jose area. From time to time I will travel to San Francisco to some different natural foods stores. So far it's fun, a little boring at times but that's ok, I can't complain.

I can't wait for my first paycheck though, I hope it comes soon. I could really use it. I haven't had any sales in my etsy shop for a while. I could still really use some sales so I can list some new items and cover bills until I get my first paycheck.

I don't need to raise a whole lot on etsy only about $100 at least $200 at most. Every little bit helps.

I have items for as low as $1.50, check out my wonderful Heart Magnets/Pins. Just in time for Valentine's Day. They make great co-worker or student gifts.

Mini Heart Magnets or Pins

Well I hope to be making more crafty posts on here very soon.

I am currently working on a wonderful crocheted heart box. Yes a box and the whole thing is crocheted, well except for the cardboard heart pieces. I bet you can't wait to see it. I will post on it soon.

So keep coming back to check out what I am up to and what weird turns my life will take next.
Leave me a comment, tell me how you are doing, is life just as crazy as mine or crazier.

Life is Crazy!!!!

Sorry it's been a while since I have posted. Things have been crazy. I got back on Monday from San Diego and seeing my grandmother. Good news is she is still with us and made it through the surgery to put a stent in her heart with no complications. Not so good news is she is having problems from the several mini strokes she has had. So she is currently in an after care facility going through rehab and physical therapy, which she doesn't like.

I also found out while I was down there that I no longer have my part-time job with Worldmark by Wyndham. This is not a good thing, I have about $700-$800 worth of monthly bills I need to cover and I only have enough to make it through the end of January. So I hope a bunch of my craft items start selling. I would love to post new items but I can't do that until I have sold some of the existing items. So shoppers please take a look at my shop any and every little bit will help.

So because of the recent job loss I have been spending the last few days looking for a new job. No luck yet, but I do have an interview on Monday. So wish me good luck please and send me your prayers around 12:15pm (pacific time) on Monday. The interview is at 12:30pm.

If anyone has any suggestions on some things I could do to make some money quickly please send me your ideas. Any and all ideas welcome. Thank you in advance.

Sorry this post is kind of a downer. I promise the next one will be more upbeat and related to crafting. (Still a work in progress)

Family Emergency....Please Pray

I will be gone until Tuesday of next week so I will not be updating for a little while. My grandmother has just had several small strokes and surgery to put a stent in her heart. So I will be with family, helping to deal with her situation for a few days.

We ask that you please put her (Mary) and my mother (Becky) who is also recovering from serious illnesses in your prayers.

Talk to you all again soon.

Thank You.

New Item---WoodsWoman Hat

This hat is so much fun. It's soft, warm and cozy. It not only keep your head toast warm but your ears too.

It's made with soft 100% acrylic yarn from TLC Essentials and Red Heart Light Lofty Yarn also 100% acrylic and very soft.
The main hat color is Taupe and the lining color is Cafe Au Lait.

Care Instructions: Machine wash warm, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low, do not over dry. For best results hand wash and lay flat or hang to dry.
**Please Note: I recommend washing all crocheted items in a garment/lingerie bag so other items in the wash don't get caught on the yarn.

This item can be purchased in my online shop.

Advertisement Reviews

I have google adsense on my blog and I am planning on trying to check out some of the adds that pop up on my blog. I will check out as many as I can when I can and post a review about them.

So the first one I have gotten to look at is one for crafting with kids. Here is the site address: http://www.education.com/activity/all-grades/all-grades/arts-and-crafts/?cid=57000.0015&s_kwcid=ContentNetwork|1444006225&gclid=COzIt-Kc85cCFRg6awodjBJWCw

It is education.com and from I can see there are lots of great crafting projects on this site that you could do with kids of just by yourself. Check it out and try something new. Looks good to me. I have bookmarked so I can go back later and try some of the crafts my self.

Let me know if you try any of them and what you think. Come back to this post and leave a comment.

New Years Resolutions

Ok so one of my New Years Resolutions was to start this blog for my craft business and just because I've been wanting to try it and learn how to do it for a while. So I did that check one off of my list.
Funny thing is I don't really have an official list. Maybe I should start one. What do you think? Do you have a New Years Resolution lists of all kinds of things you want to do throughout the new year? If you do share some of it. It might make me think of some things I haven't thought of that would be a good idea.

I know maybe I should start my list and post it here so everyone can help keep me on track. What a good idea. What do you think? Would you participate if I started one? You should start one too, then we could exchange links and help keep each other on track.

Ok so now I am excited at this thought.

So here is another New Years Resolution:
1) I am going to start my list and post it here for all to see and if I can find a good project tracker to put on my blog then I will track my progress of these items with the project tracker.
2) To the first 5 people who also start lists and post a link to their list here in the comments. I vow to link to your list and help keep you on track if you will do the same for me.

Who's with me??????
*************************************************************************************
New Years Resolutions are such funny things but usually effective for the first 2-4 months of the year. If you really think about it all they really are are to do items that you are putting on a really BIG "To Do" list. That we make into a really big deal because we label them as New Years Resolutions. I'm not being negative, just pondering.....I think it's funny that we make them so much more important than everyday "To Do" items. I just have to kind of chuckle, because I do the same thing.
I am also so bad because I usually have 3 or 4 different "To Do" lists laying around. One from the day before, one for today, one for house hold items and one for my crafting stuff. My crafting one is usually the biggest and longest and never seems to get smaller just bigger and bigger and bigger. Maybe my New Years Resolution list will help me keep on track with those things. Of maybe it will end up being a constantly changing and growing list. Either way I just hope I can learn to stick to projects commitments better this year and finish things and check things off my list.

Sooooo.......Guess I should start my list now.

New Years Day Launch

I have decided to launch my crafting blog today. It is a work in progress and will be for a while. Blogs are constantly changing and evolving kind of like life and art. So this one will be changing also, but it will be a slow process because I am new to blogging and I just don't know how to use this darn thing or all of it's features.

Sooooo, with that being said if you are reading this and you are good at blogging and you would like to help me out. We could do a trade for the initial set up of my blog. I am looking for someone to just do the initial design set up like the background, the graphics the basic layout of where the links will be, the advertisements and so on. So contact me if you are interested. (CountryCottageCrafts@hotmail.com)

Well you are probably wondering who I am and what I do at this point.
My name is Ann and I do lot's of different things. I am currently a crafter amongst other things. I am looking to focus more on my crafts and increase my sales. I would love to build my business into a full part-time business and then from there into a full time business if it's possible.

I have a shop on etsy.com to sell my handmade/handcrafted items. I do mostly crochet but some other crafts as well. Right now I have several crocheted items available and some wonderful paper gift bags from the holidays.

I just wish I could list more more often. It just seems like it takes me forever to do anything or get anything done sometimes. I guess it's because life just has attendancy to get in the way.

Well let's get back on track here. I do that sometimes, go off on little side notes but I always seem to get back on track eventually. Hopefully you will find it entertaining or it will give you a little something to think about like it does for me. I hope I don't come accross as negative at anytime that is not my intention.
My intention is to just share my thoughts about crafts, art and sometimes life. Most of my posting will be related to crafts, art and my daily experiences related to crafting & the process I go through to creat the items I make. But sometimes I will have some off subject posts just to mix things up a little bit and so that you can get to know me a little better. I am finding that people like to know a little bit about the person behind the mask so to speak. So I may also talk about things like my playful Border Collie/Black Lab Saffron and some of his adventures that he takes us on. They can be quit entertaining sometimes and might even come with some pictures. So I hope you will find my posts interesting, entertaining, maybe even helpful and along the way you might even find something you would like to buy.

I would also like to get to know you so as this blog evolves I hope you will post comments and share your ideas and thoughts with me about what I have wrote. So please bookmark me as a favorite and keep coming back to see what is new.

Feel free to contact me anytime with questions, thoughts, ideas, suggestions and more. I will be happy to respond.

Note: At first I my plan is to post 2-3 times a week until I get better at this and used to doing it. If you have any suggestions for me please share, I want to learn.

Have a great day & Happy New Year.
