About Me

Hello and Thank You for taking time to visit my craft blog.

Crochet hooks {{fi|Erikokoisia virkkuukoukkuja.Image via Wikipedia

I love to do crafts and my favorite is crochet. My great grandmother taught me to crochet (she was a master) when I was about 4 or 5 years old, I have been crocheting off and on ever since. I try to work on projects as often as I can, which is pretty much everyday.

My husband and I just recently moved to Littleton,Colorado and I am currently working on getting unpacked and organized so I can dive back into my crafting craziness.
Colorado state welcome sign
I would really love for my crafting to take off so I don't have to work for someone else anymore and so I can spend more time doing things I love.

So that's just a little about me and where I am at right now.

If you would like to post a comment or send me an email, telling me a little about where you are at and what you are up to. I would like to get to know all of you a little bit better. Hope to hear from you.
Well gotta get back to work.

Thanks for visiting with me for a while.

See you again soon.

Chocolate Banana Pops A Fun Frozen Treat

I found this fascinating post today here is a quote from the original post on Craftzine.com:

"School is out in most places and warmer weather has arrived. The sounds of the street are filled with children's laughter and the catchy jingle of the ice cream man. Stop there parents — you won't need to shell out for overpriced and unhealthy treats anymore. Instead, try this cheaper make-at-home cold summer treat, a great way to get healthy fruit into our kids with a little something special.

This is a fun project for kids to help with. They will enjoy coming up with interesting ways of decorating their own "popsicle." Who doesn't love an ice cold treat when it's hot outside?"

Crazy Times!!!

Well once again I know it has been a while since I have posted. And once again life is crazy and getting in the way. Guess that's life for ya.

Well I am working on not letting life get in the way anymore but instead to make life work for me in my way. It's been interesting so far, but it's a work in progress like everything. Slowly but surely is the key. But sometimes I really wish I could just snap my fingers or wiggle my nose and it would all be done and ready to work the way I want it to. (hahaha!) It will never happen that way, so I just keep trying to pick away at things a little at a time.

I think I am finely recovered from my 3-4 week illness back in April, but I am still feeling tired and exhausted all the time. I am thinking about finding a new doctor that may be able to help me figure this problem out. We'll see how that goes.

But in the meantime I getting back in the swing of things. I am working regularly for a Chiropractic office doing marketing/chair massage events, on a part-time basis. It seems to be going well. I am also working a little bit every day to get my crafting space in the basement organized. I think I have finely passed the half way point with it. I forgot to take pictures of the space before I got started so that I could share the progression with you. But I am going to take pictures today and post them later. I know you can't wait to see them. Better late than never right. I have also been working on new items to post to my Etsy store, when & where I can. Mostly crochet items because that's all I have access to right now and even that is limited. But not for long. My Etsy shop is in vacation mode right now, because everything is currently under construction, my store and my home studio. But it will all be back up and running soon.

Well I better get back to work. Just felt the need to blog a little since I haven't done it in a while. But I will be doing it more and more often. And soon you will be reading my random thoughts and crafting adventures all the time.

Have a great day and happy crafting.
=)

P.S. I had to shut down "The Adventures of Mr. Saffron" blog for now, no followers, and to hard to keep up with. But I will still share pictures of him with everyone here.

New Section Mr. Saffron's Adventures

Ok so, I am starting a new section here on my blog to add a little diversity to what is supposed to be a crafting blog. (I am still working on this by the way.) This new section is going to be all about the adventures of my border collie/black lab Mr. Saffron. (aka: Saffron & Houdini)

The section is titled The Adventures of Mr. Saffron.....A loving & friendly Border Collie/Black Lab.

I am going to write about his daily adventures, his mischievousness, his thoughts, his dreams and anything else he tells me too. Some of the postings will be from Saffron himself, but most will be from me. We will include pictures whenever possible. And we hope you will share pictures & comments with us about your four legged friends. Mr. Saffron loves making new friends, even virtual ones.

So please make sure to bookmark his page so you can visit him frequently.

It's Been A While........

Well it's been a while since I posted. I would like to apologize for this but I have been very sick for the last 3 weeks and life has been crazy. I am just now starting to feel a little better every day. We finally moved into our rental house the first week of April, but most everything is still in boxes. It's hard to unpack when you are couch ridden. But my husband (Chris) has been doing what he can when he's not at work. Needless to say all of my crafting has been on hold for a long time now, not exactly what I planned, oh well. Life will start getting back on track very soon, it will be slow but it will happen.

So the project for this week is to start organizing my new walk-in craft/massage closet. Yes that's right I said massage, I am going to get back into doing Massage Therapy

Massage in Frankfurt, GermanyImage via Wikipedia

over the next couple of months. But that's a topic for a different blog. So I have this huge walk-in closet in the basement that I get to have all to myself and use however I want. So my plan is to organize all my crafting supplies in this closet and then share the large open space in the basement with the game table. I get a whole wall for my crafting table, sewing table and whatever else I can fit there for work space.
This blog is supposed to be about crafting and the adventures that go along with it. I know it hasn't been very focused for a while but I promise to start changing this. So on that note I will be posting pictures and talking about my adventure into organizing my crafting world. Any feedback, comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated and helpful since I am not the greatest at organizing large spaces. My goal is to make the closet easy to use and functional on the smallest budget possible. So start throwing your ideas my way and if they are really useful and I put them to use I will be sure to blog about them.

I have also just started a new crochet project

Crochet hooks {{fi|Erikokoisia virkkuukoukkuja.Image via Wikipedia

, a palm tree afghan. I will be blogging about this soon with pictures of the work in progress, the yarns I am using and the chart I made online to help me organize my pattern to make the blanket. I can't wait to start sharing it with you. I hope you will like it.

Well have to go eat lunch now. Gotta keep my strength up to get well and get my energy back. So many new things are going to be happening and I plan to blog about all of it, I hope you will continue to check regularly for new posts and updates.

Talk to you all later.

Made it to Colorado!!!

Ok so it's been a while I know, but things have been crazy. We have moved to Colorado over the last two weeks. We are here we made it with all our stuff and the dog (Mr. Saffron). Every thing is in storage right now, not the dog. We are currently staying with my brother in-law in the Morrison area. They have a very nice house and have been very gracious to let us and Mr. Saffron stay with them for a whole month.

We found a very nice house to rent last week, but it's not available until the first of April, so we are stuck in transition mode until then. Which also means that all my crafting stuff is stuck in storage until after that time. Which means no crafting tutorials or posts until after then, also. BUMMER!

Lots is going to be happening over the next couple of weeks and months. I am currently looking for a part time job and beginning the application process to obtain my Massage Therapy license in the state of Colorado. I am very excited to get my license and set up a massage room in our new home. The city of Littleton doesn't have an regulations against doing massage out of your home. This is great because it means I can work from home and slowly build up clientele until I have enough to afford my own office again. Plus the house we are renting has plenty of room and rooms for me to do this plus have a craft space. YEAH! Oh and Chris (my husband) will get an office room too and a game room area. There is also a huge walk in closet in the fully finished basement that I will be ablte organize all my craft supplies and massage supplies in. Finally I will be organized and effecient, I hope.

Let's see what else.......oh yeah! Chris and I are going to attempt a new business venture. We are going to start our own sampler business, but with a couple of twists. I will tell a little about it now but go into more detail later. We are going to use recycled and recyclable packing only, for shipping the samplers. So they will look different every time them come and we will be helping the environment too. Also all of our samplers will be themed. And there will be absolutely no Avon, Mary Kay, Arrbone or anything else like it in our samplers. Oh and no items from recruiters or direct marketing people or anyone else along these lines. We promise to bring only good quality usable sample size items from indie artists, crafters, artists, etc.

So like I said lot's will be happening over the next two weeks to two months. But I will try to blog more often until things settle down. I don't expect to have any crafting posts until late April early May, it is going to take me a little while to get unpacked and organized. I want to take my time and do it right the first time so I don't have to do things over again or redo.

Well be sure to leave me some comments I would love to hear from you. And if you are not already following my blog, please do. Lot's of interesting things are coming in the near future.

Made It To Vegas

Ok so we are really moving to Colorado. Which means a lot, we have till Thursday March 5th to pack up the apartment in San Jose, CA move all if it's contents to our house in Las Vegas, NV (my husband will be doing this). I have till then to pack up the whole house in Las Vegas, yes that's right I said the whole house, by myself. Well at least he can help with little is left when he gets here on Monday March 2nd. But I won't be by myself all week. I also have company coming into town for Nascar races, my father in-law and one of his hunting buddies, so that will be nice.
Oh and until then no worries I have my playful pain in the but Saffron with me (border collie/black lab mix, 85lbs).

So I made it to Las Vegas babie. I drove in yesterday and got in at about 7pm after a nine hour drive from San Jose, CA. Unpacked t
he back of my truck got the dog settled and cleaned up his mess. He doesn't remember our house as home because it's been so long so he decided to mark the side of my nice new couch, little punk. (hence the pain in the but comment earlier) Hopefully because I was able to hit it with cleaner right away the couch won't be ruined by him or the cleaner. Luckily he has bad aim and got most of it on the tile floor next to the side of the couch.

Well enough about Mr. Saffron, more adventures with him later. I didn't sleep well last night so I am off to a slow start this morning, but I am drinking my glass of fruit and vegetable juice to get me going, it's great it has a whole days servings of fruits and vegetables in one 4oz glass and it's organic. Can't beat that.

So I have to go start looking for moving boxes now, get things organized, take pictures and post some furniture for sale on Craig's list. Gotta love Craig's list, best free classified website out there, as long as people don't have your postings deleted for unknown reason (another story, sorry). More to come on my moving adventures and how I supposedly have to organize and pack all my craft stuff along with my whole house and life in 1 week. Eeeeehhhhhh!!!!!

YEAH!!! Finally Got A Sale......

I am so excited I loged in to my etsy shop tonight and to my suprise there was a sale. I wasn't sure if the person was going to make the purchase, because I hadn't heard back from them. But I went ahead and created the custom listing any way, sent them the link and they made the purchase. YEAH!

I guess sometimes you just have to go for it even if your not sure. It made it easier for the person and they didn't have to wait for me to create the listing after the responded to my response. I don't usually do that but it worked out great this time.

Here is what I sold http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=13833970
